Any personal data provided by you to The Mind Sace Place (‘TMSP') through any means will be held and processed in accordance with the data protection principles set out in the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (DUAA) for the purposes for which you have given consent, to provide the services you have requested and to meet the legitimate interests of the The Mind Space Place (TMSP).
Information about you
When you enquire about receiving services from the TMSP we ask for contact details and relevant personal information from you in order to answer your enquiry. This data is stored securely for as long as is required to establish contact. Should you not wish to engage in counselling, psychotherapy or supervision with TMPS, your details will be removed.
Should you wish to engage in counselling, psychotherapy or supervision with TMPS, further personal details may be required. This information includes contact details, your availability and other relevant personal information. Intake information and brief notes of sessions are anolynimised and stored securely and seperately from idenitifying information. All data collected is stored securely for eight years after your final session after which time they will be securely destroyed.
Our use of this information
Your personal information will be used only to provide you with TMSP services and to give you information relating to them. We will not share your personal details with any other person or organisation without your knowledge and permission, unless there is a legal requirement, if there is a child or adult safeguarding issue, or a perceived risk of harm to self or others.
Security
We will take all reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of information you give us. Communications in connection with this service may be sent by e-mail. E-mail, unless encrypted, is not a fully secure means of communication. Whilst we endeavour to keep our systems and communications protected against viruses and other harmful effects, we cannot bear responsibility for all communications being virus-free.
Your rights over your personal data
If you have any concerns about the use of your data, would like to see the information held about you by TMSP, or would like to correct, update or delete any records, please email liz@themindspaceplace.co.uk. We are committed to resolving any concerns you may have about our use of your data, but if these are not resolved to your satisfaction, you may contact the Information Commissioner’s Office with whom we are registered (ico.org.uk).
